Location and Directions

Sayle House is just five minutes north of the beautiful River Cam and fifteen minutes walk to the city centre. Please note that Chesterton Hall Crescent is a cul-de-sac. If you are coming by car, you enter Chesterton Hall Crescent from the south, turning off Chesterton Road.

If you are coming by train there are plenty of taxis available on the rank outside the station. It takes approximately 10 minutes by taxi from the station and the fare should be less than £10 (£8-£9 typically). Train timetables and infornation are available below. Services to Cambridge from London run from either Kings Cross/St Pancras or from Liverpool Street. The Kings Cross/St Pancras route offers 2 express services per hour. Direct trains to Cambridge are also available from London Stansted Airport on the Greater Anglia route.

If you prefer to use public transport the Citi1 bus operates up to 6 buses per hour from the station, and takes about 20 minutes to reach the nearest stop to Sayle House (by the Westbrook Centre). It is then a 5 minute walk to Sayle House (head northeast along Miltion Road). At the Station use Stop 7 and look for buses heading towards Kings Hedges. The Busway Service D also takes you to the Westbrook Centre (use Stop 9).

There are 3 bus routes within 1-5 minutes walk from Sayle House. These will take you to the city centre in 5-10 minutes. Buses Citi1 and Citi2 run as often as every 10 minutes and Route 9 runs every 30 minutes (but is the closest stop to Sayle House). Bus timetables for these routes are available by clicking here.

We have some parking for our guests on the premises. There is currently off-street parking for just 1-2 vehicles, as we are building a small property next to Sayle House which means that our third parking space is no longer available. However it is possible to park on the street in front of the plot, and there is generally plenty of on-street parking in Chesterton Hall Crescent, which is very unusual for Cambridge.

Sayle House is at the north end of Chesterton Hall Crescent and is the penultimate house on the right of the street just before the turning circle. If you have any problems finding Sayle House please feel free to call us on the day of your arrival.

Arriving from the M11 - Heading North

Leave the M11 at Junction 13. At the traffic lights immediately after you leave the M11, turn right towards Cambridge on the A1303 Madingley Road. When you reach the mini-roundabout just after a set of traffic lights (Westminster College is on the left) bear left onto Northampton Street. Shortly after, at the traffic lights, drive straight ahead onto Chesterton Lane which leads into Chesterton Road. The River Cam is on your right. You will arrive at a large one way system with Staples stationery store ahead of you - follow signs for the ring road which will take you back onto Chesterton Road. Pass the Co-op food store on your left and then after about 150m take the second turning on your left which is Chesterton Hall Crescent. Sayle House is the penultimate house on the right of the street just before the turning circle.

Arriving from the A1 - Heading North

Leave at Junction 9 and take the A505 towards Royston. After approximately 12 miles join the A10 towards Cambridge. After going through Harston (approximately 9 miles) join the M11 at Junction 11 and then follow the directions above from the M11 Junction 13

Arriving from the A14 - Heading South

Leave the A14 just before it merges with M11 Junction 14. Follow the signs for Cambridge on the A1307. You are on Huntingdon Road. After approximately 2 miles you will arrive at set of traffic lights. Turn left following the signs for Chesterton. Avoid the immediate left towards Histon and drive ahead onto Victoria Road. After 1 mile you will arrive at a large one way system with Staples stationery store ahead of you - follow signs for the ring road which will take you onto Chesterton Road. Pass the Co-op food store on your left and then after about 150m take the second turning on your left which is Chesterton Hall Crescent. Sayle House is the penultimate house on the right of the street just before the turning circle.

Arriving from the A1 - Heading South

Leave at Junction 14 and take the A14 towards towards Cambridge. Then follow the directions above for the A14 Heading South

Arriving from the A428 - Heading East from Bedford & St. Neots

Follow the signs for Cambridge and pass over the M11 until you join the A1303 Madingley Road. When you reach the mini-roundabout just after a set of traffic lights (Westminster College is on the left) bear left onto Northampton Street. Arriving from the A14 - Heading West from Ipswich & Bury St. Edmunds

Follow the signs for Cambridge and exit at Junction 33. At the large roundabout at the top of the slip road take the first left and follow the A1309 to Cambridge. Drive through multiple sets of traffic lights by the Science Park and Business park until you reach a set of traffic lights at the junction with Kings Hedges Road/Green Road (the Golden Hind pub is on your right, and the Co-op food store is diagonally opposite). Drive straight ahead . You will reach another set of traffic lights - drive straight over; there will be a parade of shops on your right including another Co-op followed immediately by a large roundabout at which you should take the 1st exit left. After 500m you will reach another large roundabout - take the 3rd exit right. Shortly after pass the Spar food store on your right and then after about 100m take the 1st turning on your right which is Chesterton Hall Crescent. Sayle House is the penultimate house on the right of the street just before the turning circle.
